Strategy for Turbulent Times - Learn Why Good Strategists Outperform Great Planners

 

When nonprofit leadership adopts a robust strategy, mission is advanced, challenges are overcome, new opportunities for growth are developed, and board members and staff are energized and empowered. 

 

Yet, for too many nonprofits, planning has gotten in the way of creating good strategy - the high level decision-making framework used each and every day.

 

In this training, participants will learn:

 

●     Why many nonprofits are putting the “cart before the horse” by planning without strategy….even during strategy retreats.

●     How to develop a driving strategy that can be understood by everyone and in day-to-day decision-making.

●     Easy-to-use tools that executive teams and their boards can use to become better strategists

Presenter Info: 

Rob Leighton is the executive director and founder the iMission Institute. Rob helps nonprofits to design strategy and then exploit the power of the digital age for advocacy, community-building and fundraising. He has worked with national environmental groups, community social service providers, statewide health organizations, community foundations and international development initiatives.  Rob brings a strategic understanding and proven implementation skills to the efforts to integrate marketing and technology so that his clients really can do more with less, build and activate social networks for good, and achieve measurable results in advocacy and fundraising. 

He received in undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and an M.B.A. from Yale University.  He lives in Connecticut with his wife, and is the proud father of two daughters.
