Behavioral interviewing is a method that anticipates future performance based on past performance and is said to be 55 percent predictive of future on-the-job behavior, while traditional interviewing is only 10 percent predictive.

Behavioral interviewing is a technique in which the interviewer determines how an applicant will most likely act or perform in a given situation, by finding out how they similarly performed or acted in similar situations in the past.  The premise of “the most accurate predictor of future behavior is past performance” is the cornerstone of this technique.
