About the Instructors:

 

Rob Leighton, iMission Partners

Rob works with management teams to design and implement relationship development strategies that move more online visitors to prospects, and then move more prospects to active donors, loyal clients or passionate customers.

 

He has built a career working with mission driven for-profit and non-profit organizations, working in the fields of health and nutrition, economic development, human resources, children’s services, and natural products.

 

With over 30 year experience, Rob has managed, consulted and served on boards of start-ups as well as established entities in both turnaround and growth stages. He holds an MBA from the Yale School of Management, and a BA with high distinction from the University of Michigan.

 

Mason Rabinowitz, iMission Partners

Mason is a second generation direct response marketer, bringing a best practice approach to nonprofit email marketing and direct mail solicitation. He prides himself on creating the content that not only conveys client unique purpose, but also effectively moves people to take actions, like donating, buying, volunteering and advocating.

Class I – Strategic Overview

In this first face-to-face class, you’ll learn the strategic framework to succeed online with new donor acquisitions.    

 

You’ll discover the power of the engagement funnel, why leading for-profit companies like Amazon, Apple and Weight Watchers use a similar model, and how entrepreneurial nonprofits and advocacy groups  use the engagement funnel to quickly build their base of support. 

 

You’ll also learn how to leverage your existing technology—donor management system, websites and email marketing platforms—so you don’t need to invest in new technologies to succeed.  

 

Online Lessons 1-8 – Moving Online Visitors to Donor Prospects 

With these on-demand, online lessons, you’ll build your nonprofit’s engagement funnel.

 

Over the next four weeks, you will have to dedicate 1 hour per week to cover all these lessons.  Watch them when it is convenient for you, morning, noon or night!

 

You will learn the skills you need to sharply increase the right online traffic – the people who are most likely to become supporters. Lesson worksheets will teach you to move online visitors to qualified donor prospects.

 

 

Class II –   Coaching and Peer-to-Peer Collaboration

Course participants will come together in the second class to discuss how to accelerate progress toward building their nonprofit’s online engagement funnel.

 

 Having moved online visitors to donor prospects, we’ll now explore how prospects can be turned into  first time donors.  Important concepts like nonprofit branding and crafting the first asks will be outlined.   

 

Online Lessons 9-16 – Moving Prospects to Donors 

Through this next set of online, on-demand lessons, you’ll learn to how to move prospects to first time buyers. You’ll also get ready to launch your engagement funnel and learn:

·        How to use simple tools to automate the engagement funnel so that you  can do   more with less. 

·        The simple key performance metrics (KPIs) that motivate team members to drive donor acquisition success.

·        How to get your board, including the board treasurer, to take ownership of the online engagement effort.

 

Class III - Launching Your Engagement Funnel

 

You’re ready to open the flood gates and let people flow into your engagement funnel. We’ll discuss what to expect, key steps for moving forward, and overcoming common obstacles. We will set aside time to collaborate with each other to support ongoing engagement success.
