Mental Health First Aid

Mental Health First Aid is an essential public education program that teaches participants to identify the risk factors and warning signs, builds understanding, and how to follow a five-step action plan. This certification course teaches nonprofit professionals how to provide first aid to individuals experiencing a mental health crisis or developing a mental health disorder.

The Mental Health First Aid program uses role-playing and simulations to demonstrate how to assess a mental health crisis, provide help and determine interventions, and connect individuals to professional, peer, and self-help care. The program includes a strong recovery message and teaches the risk factors and warning signs of specific illnesses like: anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, and addictions.

Participants will receive a Mental Health First Aid manual and several informative handouts. Attendees that successfully complete this two-day training will receive a certification from Wheeler Clinic.

Do not miss this exclusive free member training! Space is limited - first come, first served.

Due to extensive content covered, registration opens at 8:30am, training will begin precisely at 9:00am, and will end at 3:00pm.

Light refreshments will be provided, however, participants are encouraged to bring their own lunch.
