Two-Day Grant Proposal Writing Workshop

In this Two-Day Grant Proposal Writing workshop, you'll learn to craft successful grant applications to increase your organization’s financial stability and sustainability! Designed for novice grant seekers; participants will receive a comprehensive introduction to the world of grant proposals, with extra focus on grants terminology, and the application process from start to successful finish! If you have an idea for a project or program that needs funding, this workshop can put you on the right track for writing a successful grant proposal.

 

Our comprehensive workshop covers the various types of grants with interactive exercises and examples and converting ideas into projects that you can utilize in search for funding. This Two-Day training addresses the overarching strategic plan involved in the grant writing process with emphasis on key elements: needs statement, mission, goals, objectives, evidence, key personnel and budgets. Throughout the workshop, you will engage in interactive exercises and discussions tailored to support your specific project for your organization.

 

·         Overview of the Grant Research Process

·         Learn the Grant Preparation and Writing process from A to Z through in class exercises

·         Write YOUR own proposal

 

Workshop designed for:

·         Beginners who want to develop grant writing skills to support organization’s needs and expand

          professional opportunities.

·         Nonprofit professionals who are looking to obtain an understanding on how the grant research,

          preparation, writing and funding work.

·         Those who are seeking to develop enhanced skills in writing grants

 

After the workshop, attendees will be able to:

·         Navigate the grant procurement process

·         Identify critical sections of successful proposals

·         Write intentionally and purposefully to create winning proposals

·         Understand and respond appropriately to the various guidelines required

          by a diverse group of funders

 

To prepare for the workshop:

 

Start thinking about a project that you want to develop. Do you already have a specific grant that you want to apply for? If not, consider potential funders such as a foundation, a corporation or local, state or federal agencies that align with your organization’s mission.

 

·         Be prepared before class to have answers to the following questions:

 

1.      What are the current needs of your project?

2.      What is the significance of your project?

3.      How will you budget for your proposal?

4.      What is the time frame of this grant that you are applying for?

 

·         What to bring to class:

 

1.      Laptop, charger and extension cord

2.      Organizational Information

1.      Mission Statement

2.      Strategic Plan

3.      Materials that can help you define the needs of your organization

3.      Proposal – a proposal that you intend to work with
