What You Need to be an Effective Nonprofit Advocate

 

Register today for this FREE advocacy training. *

 

The 2020 Regular Legislative Session begins in February. This half-day training will prepare you, your staff or your Board members for what is to come during this short legislative session. 


Who Should Attend?

 

Anyone who wants to play a role in advocacy, public policy development and those who would like a refresher course. Whether you are already engaged or looking to get started, we encourage staff from all levels of nonprofit organizations to register for this training.

 

Participants will learn::

 

1. Creative and effective ways to communicate with elected officials and the tools to successfully develop and deliver your message
2. An overview of the State budget process and how you can influence it
3. How to shape your message and strategies for working with the press
4. An in-depth look at how a bill becomes a law in Connecticut 

 

Training Session Information:

 

Session 1: Tuesday, December 17, 2019, 9:00am - Noon at The Alliance Rocky Hill Office
