Sexual Harassment Prevention for the Nonprofit Workplace

 

This two-hour interactive training will put non-profit agencies and organizations in compliance with the new state law, “Time’s Up Act” (P.A. 19-16), which requires that all businesses train all employees in the detection, awareness and remedies of this pernicious form or workplace discrimination.

 

Participants will learn about the history and cultural implications of sexual harassment; its effects on the bottom line; the specific risks non-profits face; differences between Connecticut and federal law; what sexual harassment is (and is not); the various forms it takes; how to be a good ally; workers’ rights; managers will learn what triggers a duty to investigate; protocols for conducting investigations; and the individual and collective responsibility for creating harmonious workplaces that are safe for all employees, regardless of gender, race, sexual orientation, rank or position within the non-profit institution.

 

Approximately one week prior to this training registrants will be e-mailed several relevant Case Studies to familiarize yourself with in preparation for discussion during the training. Other workshop materials will be provided via e-mail as appropriate. 

 

Presenter Information:

Christine Palm, Principal, Sexual Harassment Prevention, LLC. served for many years as the State of Connecticut’s anti-harassment trainer for Executive Branch agencies in her role as communications director for the non-partisan Permanent Commission on the Status of Women. As a state legislator, she helped craft language on the “Time’s Up Act” (P.A. 19-16) and is very familiar with its requirements.

$70 for Alliance Members

$90 for Not-Yet-Members

 

Payment is due in full upon registration and enrollment will not be guaranteed until payment is received.

Once registered, you will receive an email from Zoe Schwartz zschwartz@ctnonprofitalliance.org on Wednesday, August 12th after 6:00pm with the Zoom link and password, as well as any materials that will be used during the training if applicable. If you have any questions prior to the event, please reach out to Zoe at any time. 

 

Refund Policy: Once registered, you may request a full refund, or request your registration be transferred to another future training, up until 2 weeks before the date of the training. Within the 2 weeks prior to the training, we cannot process refunds or offer credit toward a future training, however you may substitute another attendee in your place at any time.
